Saya selalu suka motif ini walaupun saya

tahu saya tidak punya cukup kesabaran

untuk membuat kerajinan seperti ini. 

Saya sudah mencobanya dua kali dan selalu

berhenti di awal sekali. Namun buku bekas 

ini menurut saya sangatlah cantik motif-motifnya,

Cross Stitch Pattern Book by Misako Murayama.

I always love everything with cross stitch 

pattern on them.I have tried twice making 

a piece and gave up on the first week! 

But I was so happy to find this cross stitch

book pattern by Misako Murayama, for its

pretty patterns although most of the pages 

are not in a really good condition.

Nah kemarin adalah pesta peluncurannya.

Penulisnya Rahne Putri membuat ide pesta

piknik di sebuah taman luas yang cantik dan

rimbun di bawah langit Jakarta yang mendung.

Sempurna.

Do you remember my first book cover order?

The writer made a wonderful picnic party by

the park to launch her book yesterday afternoon.

I made a small demonstration of how to make

the collage, listened to the beautiful music,  

ate cupcakes with the book cover design and

met many new friends. Congrats, Rahne Putri!

Inilah pertama kali saya membuat kolase untuk 

sampul buku. Dan saya beruntung karena 

Rahne Putri adalah seorang klien yang asik sekali. 

Kita menghabiskan sepanjang malam di suatu 

Jumat untuk makan ramen, mencari gambar dan 

menentukkan warna untuk desain sampul ini. 

Ini beberapa desain yang dibuat feransis dari

kolase saya dan yang terakhirlah yang akan

dicetak dan sudah bisa dibeli di toko-toko buku

mulai bulan ini. Horeee!

This is my first book cover order from Rahne Putri

that I met from twitter and has been such an awesome

client! We spent an entire one Friday night eating

ramen and hang out at my place for a brainstorming

session and Voila! The last picture is the approved 

design by the pulisher and will available at the book

store soon. Yay!

Indonesian plants are so quirky and pretty

Saya mendapatkan sebuah buku dari tahun 1948 

buatan seorang holtikulturalis dari Belanda yang 

bekerja di Taman Raya Bogor yang membuat

buku tentang tanaman-tanaman Indonesia dengan

gambar yang dilukis oleh orang Indonesia. 

Ini beberapa halaman di dalamnya yang sudah

sempat saya scan. Cantik sekali ya!

These are some pages from a book on Indonesian
plants made by a Dutch man working at the
Bogor Botanical Garden together with this
Indonesian artist. The book was published on
1948. Aren't they just so pretty? And I'm just
so lucky to get the book?:)

Buku berbahasa Belanda yang dikeluarkan oleh Nestle ini

saya temukan di tempat yang sama saya memperoleh

majalah-majalah fesyen tua yang cantik-cantik itu. 

Yang membuat saya sangat sangat senang adalah semua

gambar di dalam buku ini masih menggunakan tehnik

litograf yang sudah tidak ada lagi sekarang. 

Just like those gorgeous vintage fashion magazines, I got this

book also in the same place but from different seller. I believe

they all original lithograph made by Nestle in the 50's in Dutch

explaining on everything interesting about Indonesia not only

its wildlife but also some of the local people clothes and all.

Such a delicate and delicious book, indeed. 

even science books are pretty back then

Saya menemukan buku-buku sains retro terjemahan ini
tertumpuk di belakang sebuah toko buku lawas di Bandung.
Saya suka sekali dengan foto, model serta jenis huruf yang
digunakan untuk judul buku ini apalagi perpaduan warnanya.

These retro science books for children were found at the back
of an old book shop in Bandung. The titles of these books are
'living creatures', 'magnet', 'heat' and 'gravity' and I just love
everything about them!
