me and books: used cross stitch book

Saya selalu suka motif ini walaupun saya

tahu saya tidak punya cukup kesabaran

untuk membuat kerajinan seperti ini. 

Saya sudah mencobanya dua kali dan selalu

berhenti di awal sekali. Namun buku bekas 

ini menurut saya sangatlah cantik motif-motifnya,

Cross Stitch Pattern Book by Misako Murayama.

I always love everything with cross stitch 

pattern on them.I have tried twice making 

a piece and gave up on the first week! 

But I was so happy to find this cross stitch

book pattern by Misako Murayama, for its

pretty patterns although most of the pages 

are not in a really good condition.

me and sunday : visit to the post office

Hari Minggu pagi bersama teman-teman baru pergi
mengunjungi kantor pos filateli favorit di Pasar Baru
dan menemukan banyak sekali harta karun. Senang!

Sunday morning with a bunch of new friends and
visit to my favorite old post office to do some
ephemera shopping and found so much more than
what we expected. Superb!

Kalau ada yang heran kenapa saya lama sekali tidak

posting itu disebabkan karena laptop saya sakit. 

Namun kabarnya besok dia sudah kembali sehat seperti

sedia kala. Sambil menunggu silahkan dinikmati serta

digunakan gambar-gambar vintage cantik ini untuk

digunakan sesukanya. 

My laptop has been really really sick therefore I 

haven't been able to post new pictures for days.

But tomorrow it will be back to normal and meanwhile

enjoy all these vintage art clip that I have been

collected all these times.

me and collection: second hand vinyl

Saya bukan kolektor piringan hitam, tapi saya punya

beberapa untuk gambar sampulnya yang cantik luar biasa.

Seperti ini yang baru saja saya dapat saat mengambil

sesuatu yang sama cantiknya. Dan sekarang saya mulai

merasa mesti memainkan piringan-piringan hitam ini

juga, tampaknya musiknya tak kalah menarik.

I may not be an avid vinyl collector, but I know some 

gorgeous one with beautiful picture and photo on their

covers. I got these at one of my latest trip picking up

something else as pretty. And yes, I think I have to start 

playing my vinyl player also soon. So wish me luck!:)

Tina has such a pretty album

Saya tidak sengaja menemukan buku ini minggu lalu

di tempat buku bekas tidak jauh dari tempat tinggal saya.

Buku anak-anak berbahasa Belanda dari tahun 1967 

dengan isi perpaduan dari komik, sains dan boneka. 

Albumnya Tina, judulnya saya suka.

I found this interesting children book in Dutch language
printed on 1967 with the contents of comics, science,
dolls and interesting fashion pages with Barbie in it.
I like the name, Tina Album. I think if I have an album
as  kid it might be as fun as hers too.

some lucky weekend findings

Ini adalah beberapa perolehan saya saat meng-

habiskan sepanjang Sabtu dengan sesama pecinta vintage 

menjelajah Jakarta dari mulai pasar loak,

pasar kain hingga entah apalagi. Kami memang

sangat beruntung hari itu. Dan selamat berpuasa

untuk yang menunaikannya ya!

These are just a few of my lucky findings when
I spent my Saturday with my vintage buddy 
from one thrift market to another. From fabric
to paper and so much more. Will share more
later while I just have to get back to my routine
after a short holiday in Bali. Have a marvelous
monday everyone!

Indonesian plants are so quirky and pretty

Saya mendapatkan sebuah buku dari tahun 1948 

buatan seorang holtikulturalis dari Belanda yang 

bekerja di Taman Raya Bogor yang membuat

buku tentang tanaman-tanaman Indonesia dengan

gambar yang dilukis oleh orang Indonesia. 

Ini beberapa halaman di dalamnya yang sudah

sempat saya scan. Cantik sekali ya!

These are some pages from a book on Indonesian
plants made by a Dutch man working at the
Bogor Botanical Garden together with this
Indonesian artist. The book was published on
1948. Aren't they just so pretty? And I'm just
so lucky to get the book?:)

Buku berbahasa Belanda yang dikeluarkan oleh Nestle ini

saya temukan di tempat yang sama saya memperoleh

majalah-majalah fesyen tua yang cantik-cantik itu. 

Yang membuat saya sangat sangat senang adalah semua

gambar di dalam buku ini masih menggunakan tehnik

litograf yang sudah tidak ada lagi sekarang. 

Just like those gorgeous vintage fashion magazines, I got this

book also in the same place but from different seller. I believe

they all original lithograph made by Nestle in the 50's in Dutch

explaining on everything interesting about Indonesia not only

its wildlife but also some of the local people clothes and all.

Such a delicate and delicious book, indeed. 

Vintage Fashion Magazines

Majalah-majalah fesyen vintage yang saya temukan
di kantor pos tua langganan saya. Di lapak bapak
penjual majalah ini saya menemukan banyak sekali
ephemera cantik yang ingin sekali saya beli semuanya
bila mampu:)

These are my latest finds from that old post office 
that I haven't been visited for awhile now. The 
guy who sell these to me has such an excellent
collections of ephemera that I wish I can buy
them all!

even science books are pretty back then

Saya menemukan buku-buku sains retro terjemahan ini
tertumpuk di belakang sebuah toko buku lawas di Bandung.
Saya suka sekali dengan foto, model serta jenis huruf yang
digunakan untuk judul buku ini apalagi perpaduan warnanya.

These retro science books for children were found at the back
of an old book shop in Bandung. The titles of these books are
'living creatures', 'magnet', 'heat' and 'gravity' and I just love
everything about them!
